CROWD OF 152 ON HAND FOR REUNION OF LEWIS FAMILY IN ROBERT LEE
JUNE 18-19

One hundred and fifty-two relatives and friends of the late Mr.
and Mrs. SAM LEWIS met at the Robert Lee Recreation Hall at the
County Park June 18 and 19 for the annual reunion.

Local relatives of the couple included the descendants of the late
Mr. and Mrs. TOM WILLIAMS, Mr. and Mrs. C. S. SCHOOLEY of Fort Worth
and G. E. DAVIS and the late MATTIE DAVIS. Surviving children are
REX LEWIS of Brady, MRS. C. S. SCHOOLEY of Fort Worth, HENRY LEWIS
of Borger and Mrs. O. E. DUKE of New Jersey. Both boys, REX and HENRY,
and one daughter, Mrs. PEARL SCHOOLEY, attended the affair.

Officers for the coming year were elected as follows: President,
GARLAND DAVIS; vice president,k GRANVILLE DAVIS; secretary-treasurer,
VAUGHN S. DAVIS; and recording secretary, MRS. WESLEY KINSEY.

Date for 1960 has been set for the weekend of the third Sunday in
June. Outgoing officers were SAM L. WILLIAMS, pres.; MRS. WESLEY
KINSEY, v-pres.; Mrs. TURNEY CASEY, sec.-treas. and PETE DAVIS,
recording secretary.

Attending from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. R. E. JAY, San Angelo;
Mr. and Mrs. BOBBY RICHARDSON, Odessa; the CECIL CATES family, Midland;
Mr and Mrs. JODIE WILLIAMS, Roby. These are the descendants of the late
TOM WILLIAMS family. Descendants of G. E. DAVIS attending from out of
town were Mr. and Mrs. RUSSELL ZOET, Houston; Mr. and Mrs. BOB L. DAVIS,
San Antonio; Mr. and Mrs. JAKE DAVIS of Amarillo.

Of the REX LEWIS family attending were Mr. and Mrs. RAY EASTMAN,
San Angelo; Mr. and Mrs. CURTIS LEWIS, Kermit; Mr. and Mrs. THOMAS
LEWIS, Austin.

From Fort Worth were Mr. and Mrs. C. S. SCHOOLEY (Pearl Lewis)
attending with the HENRY LEWIS' of Borger, his daughter and
son-in-law.

Mrs. EUNA LEWIS, wife of the late LUCIS LEWIS, attended from Austin.
Children of this couple present were Mrs. PHIL BREWINGTON and family
of Austin, GEORGE LEWIS and family, Rockport. Mrs. THERESA CASTLEBERRY,
daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. EUEL LEWIS, came from Lovington,
N. Mex.

Besides these were several nieces, nephews, grandchildren and others
related to the late Mr. and Mrs. LEWIS at the reunion.

Sataurday night was spent in visiting and a dinner was served Sunday.
Friends of the families came by during the day.
