King Family Reunion: 52nd Annual Reunion, June 22, 2013

King Family Reunion Held

Sixty descendants and friends of Sam and Anna King met for their 52nd 
annual reunion on Saturday, June 22, 2013, at the Victory Assembly of 
God Family Center in Robert Lee. Sam and Anna (Benson) King were long 
time residents of Coke County. Sam and Anna were married January 1, 1890, 
in the home of W.C. Benson in Edith.

The day was spent eating, visiting, swimming, sharing pictures and trying 
to stay cool. There was a moment of remembrance for Pauline Blair, 
Mike McVicker and his wife, Sam Plumlee, Anna Mae King Hartsell, 
Willie Faye Gaines Eads, and Madelle Blair Thomas who had passed away 
since the last reunion. 

Jess Gaines led the prayer before lunch, and had the "hat passed" for 
donations. That evening, Darlene Kelly gave a financial report and 
Lavelta McVicker led the prayer before the meal. It was mentioned that 
Eugenia Smith was the oldest attending; she will be 92 on July 24. 
Everyone had a good time and is looking forward to next year.

of Odessa; Christa, Emily and Gracie McClellan of View; Adrienne Fortune 
of Hearne; Gavin and Kailey Freeman of Robert Lee; Scott, Natasha, Braxton, 
and Ashlyn Summers, and Natalia Heronema of Commerce City, Colorado.

Frank Otis King family: Jim and Olivia King, of Robert Lee, and Louis Saiz.

George King family: None

Lillie King Gaines family: Bertie Wanker of Fairview, Oklahoma; John Eads 
of Midland; Kayla (Eads) and Anthony Magana of Hobbs, New Mexico; 
Shane Allen of Lubbock; and Joyce Allen of Ransom Canyon.

Dave King family: Joyce and Bobby Walker of Robert Lee; and Dave and 
Donna Walker of Odessa; Gary and Becky Vernor of Brazoria; and 
Betty George of Lake Jackson.

Mae King Blair family: None

R.B. King family: Burt and Lavelta McVicker of Burnet.

Friends joining them were Travis Baker of San Angelo; Dail Crelly of Fairview, 
Oklahoma, and Pastor Irving Smith of Robert Lee.
