Harmon-Sparks 75th Family Reunion Held

The families of the late Joe Cephus and Clara Belle (Sparks) Harmon and 
the late Mathew Marion and Almeda King (Taylor) Sparks gathered at the 
Robert Lee Recreation Hall, Saturday, June 14, 2014, for their 
75th Annual Reunion. There were 77 relatives and friends of 
the family present.

The late Thomas (T.R.) Harmon was the son of Joe Cephus and 
Clara Belle Harmon. the late Amanda (Mandy Sparks) Harmon 
was the daughter of the late Mathew Marion and Almeda King Sparks. 
The families of these early day Coke County residents present for the 
75th reunion were:
 
Inez (Harmon) Harper; Lawana (Harmon) and Foy Askins; 
Jeffie (Harmon) and Bobby Roberts; Denise, Kacee & James Roberts; 
Kassie O'Dell; Crystal, Ryan and Kamryn Stanford; Bill and Linda Burns; 
Suzann (Burns) and Richard Johnson; Ernest, Linda and Amanda Burns; 
Olean Stricklan; and Joe and DeAnna Harmon all of Robert Lee.

Also present were: Dorene (Harmon) and John Bearfield; Sheila (Roberts) 
and Jim Farrar; Rena (Mashburn) and Lewis Conner; Dorothy Harmon; 
Ardie and Linda Harmon; Darlene (Harmon) and Jackie Boyd; 
Jerrel and Lavelle Harmon; Brint, Robin, Brynson, and Logan Harmon; 
Teresa (Harmon) Morgan; and Cameron Burns all of San Angelo.
 
Rick and Cheri Mashburn of Salado; James and Blanche Harmon of 
Benbrook; Clint and Sharon Harmon of Midland; Doug and Marlane
Burns of Fort Stockton; Madison Burns of Houston; Dean, Rebecca, 
Hudson andGrayson Burns of Pipe Creek; Kelly Nichols of Crane; 
Joe and Julia Ann Harmon of Southlake; Sheree (Burns), Sydney and 
Taylor Hardin of Deferiet, New York; Troy and Susan Millican of 
Sterling City; Darwin and Joan Harmon of Big Spring;
Jeanette Lea (Harmon) Boyd and Sidney Hilley of Whitewright; 
Jacob Bandy of Lewisville; Betsy (Harmon) Baker of Smithville, MO.;
 
Jim Eicke of Amarillo; Sabrina Krueger of Odessa; 
Deborah (Davis) Rinehart of Gladwater; and last but not least 
Jason and Nova Harmon with their 5 month old twins - Calloway and
McKenna of Hollywood Park, in the San Antonio area. 
The reunion bunch were so pleased to meet the new twins 
and have the other twins present. They are Sydney and Taylor Hardin, 
daughters of Sheree (Burns) and B. C. Hardin, granddaughters of 
Bill and Linda Burns. Great - granddaughters of Inez (Harmon) Harper.

Shirley (Sparks) and Don Thomas of Cape Fair, Mo. and daughter of the 
late Luther and Violet Sparks were present to represent the Sparks 
families.

Everyone enjoyed a lot of visiting, eating, picture taking, golfing 
and swimming. The day was nice but hot, received .30 inch of rain in 
the early morning hours and the temperture was 93 degrees. The next 
reunion will be held sometime in June, 2015.

Sheila (Roberts) and Jim Farrar, Douglas and Denise
Roberts and families surprised their parents, Bobby and 
Jeffie Roberts, with a beautiful cake in honor of their 60th 
Wedding Anniversary. Everyone enjoyed the cake and signed the 
special card and expressed their congratulations to the Roberts. 
Bobby and Jeffie were married June 18, 1954.
