PERSONALS - The Bronte Enterprise, February 20, 1964 Contributed by Jo Collier 10 January 2007 *********************************************************************** The Bronte Enterprise, Bronte, TX - February 20, 1964 Blackwell Home Demonstration club met in the Methodist Fellowship hall Tuesday morning with Mrs. JIM BICKLEY as hostess. Mrs. MACK COTTEN, president, presided at the business meeting. Roll call was "The best personality trait to have." Miss SUE HAWTHORNE, county agent, began a sewing class. All that are interested in making a garment will meet at the Fellow- ship hall at 9:30 a.m. Feb. 25 and 27, March 2, 10, and 12. A refreshment plate was served to Miss HAWTHORNE, Miss BERTHA SMITH and Mmes. DON DULIN, WALTER KING, L. W. SWEET, TERRY BARRETT, JAMES WARE, TONEY HAMM, R. E. PATTON, FRANK BROWNFIELD, ED GARVIN, O. S. EVERETT, LEE ALDERMAN, CHAS. RAGSDALE, COTTEN, and the hostess. *********************************************************************** Mr. and Mrs. HENRY WALKER have returned home after an extended vacation touring the Western States. While in California, they visited Mr. Walker's brother, JOHN WALKER, and family in Modesto. Last weekend their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. LIONEL PERRY, LIBBY, GINNY and GENA BETH, of Austin were here for a visit. STOVER TAYLOR, BOBBY ALLEN and MIKE EZELL, students at ACC, Abilene, spent the weekend in the JAMES ALLEN AND HORACE TAYLOR homes. Mr. and Mrs. CLYDE LEE and Mr. and Mrs. J. T. ROBERTS of Abilene were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. RONALD PERKINS in Dallas. Mr. and Mrs. E. L. CAULDER recently bought the JOE DAVIS home in the west part of Bronte. Mr. and Mrs. Davis and family have moved into one of the HESTER rent houses in the north part of town. Captain and Mrs. AUSTIN COLLINS are back in Bronte after being in San Antonio for some time while the captain underwent treatment at Lackland AFB hospital. He is reported to be improving and is not scheduled to go back for further treatment until May. Mr. and Mrs. JACK VINSON have moved to Bronte from San Angelo, and are living in a rent house belonging to Mrs. WILLIE B. MILLIKIN. Vinson is in the plumbing, electrical and windmill repair business, and is running an ad in this week's paper soliciting business. W. Y BOATRIGHT was honored on his birthday Feb. 11 when a group of friends and relataives gathered for a dinner at Lowake. Attending were Mrs. BOBBIE ALTMAN and ESTELLE BROWN, Victoria; WAYNE ABLES and Mr. and Mrs. BUSTER LEDBETTER, Big Lake; Mr. and Mrs. HENRY BOATRIGHT, San Angelo; Mrs. ROBERT BALKUM, Mrs. RUBY ELLASON and Mrs. and Mrs. DOYLE GLEGHORN, Miles; WILSON BOATRIGHT, Ballinger; Mr. and Mrs. J. C. BOATRIGHT and Mr. and Mrs. J. B. ARROTT, Bronte. DEANIE ALLEN, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. JAMES ALLEN and a student at ACC, Abilene, has been nominated as Miss ACC, campus beauty and senior class favorite. Election for the honor spots will be held soon, but results will not be revealed until the school annuals are distributed. Mr. and Mrs. VERNON C. LAMMERS and Mr. and Mrs. LESLIE LAMMERS attended funeral servies in San Angelo for their cousin, JAMES B.
