Personals Story: LOCALS from Bronte June 1951 Contributed by Brenda Scott Hines Sep 2013 ************************************************************************** The Bronte Enterprise Bronte, Texas June 22, 1951 LOCALS Mrs. Kate Cox and Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Gleghorn spent Sunday visiting relatives in Cherokee and Menard. Mr. and Mrs. B. W. Waldrop and son, Lyndon, and Mrs. J. A. Waldrop are in Hallettsville this week where they are visiting relatives and London is entering the State High School Boys Rodeo being held in Austin. Mrs. B. D. Snead and Billy Doak spent Thursday night with the J. T. Thedford family at Edith. Doris and Montie Alexander and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Webster of San Angelo visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Monroe Alexander and family. Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Murtishaw received a recent letter from their son Sgt. Floyd Murtishaw, in Korea. The letter which was dated June 10, said that the 35th regiment, of which Floyd is a part, recently drove back the enemy in a rugged northeast Korean battle. Floyd is still alright and hopes to be shipped back to the States about July 25. He has spent about a year in the Korean fighting. Mrs. L. H. Reeger left Monday night for Austin, after receiving word that her sister was ill there. She will go to Freer and lulling for a visit with relatives before returning to Bronte. The Ben Oglesby's spent Sunday in Westbrook. Margie remained for a few days visit there. Among out of town visitors in Bronte during the week were Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Hudman of Iraan, Henry Hudman and Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Hudman of Abilene, and J. B. Hudman and son, Victor, of Post. They visited Mr. Elmer Hudman who is in the Karen-Gayle hospital and also visited Mr. and Mrs. T. E.
