News Story: Leathers family Letter of Appreciation - 1944 Contributed by Brenda Scott Hines June 2011 ************************************************************************** The Bronte Enterprise, Texas, Friday, February 25, 1944 Leathers family Letter of Appreciation We want in this way to express our deepest appreciation to our dear friends and the good people, generally of Bronte and elsewhere for your deep interest and kind sympathy for us and the anxious concern you expressed for our son, Carroll, when the news came of his being seriously injured, on duty at Camp Ellis where he is stationed. People could do no more than you did for us. We appreciate more than we can express, all the kindly interest you manifested for him and us. Such friends are life's greatest treasure, after all. In these awful days of war we do not know what will befall us - we are all in a common situation together. If such tragedy must come to you, we will have for you the deepest sympathy. May God bless you, everyone and give us the victory in this war.
