I will be making my last trip on Route 1, Friday, June 1 
and am using this method to express my appreciation to you for 
being so nice, kind and patient with your mail carrier for the 
past 35 years.     

As you know the patrons of Route 2, I have nothing but sympathy, 
as I am being assigned to Route 2 on Jun 2, 1956.   Please put 
your name on box and I will do my best to make as good a carrier 
as J. A. Stephenson.  Also, please stamp your letters before mailing, 
as I carry no change.
