News Story: City Ordinance - Bronte - 1944 Contributed by Brenda Scott Hines June 2011 ************************************************************************** The Bronte Enterprise, Texas, Friday, February 25, 1944 NOTICE This is to remind everybody residing within the city limits of Bronte that there is a city ordinance against letting your chickens run loose outside of your own yard. Garden time is here so, see to it that your chickens are kept according to law. If you live out, away from all your neighbors, where the chickens will bother no one, that is all right - but if your neighbors are near you and are trying to raise a garden, keep your chickens up. Also, another, reminder: there is a law against raising hogs in the city limits. If you have a hog be sure to keep its pen clean so that your neighbors will not be bothered by the stench and the flies. Let's all help each in these trying times. Listen to this notice -- for, if someone files a complaint against you, then, you will have to pay a fine.
