They may come at us in a new form but this one is dead. Therefore it won't be necessary to pull out any eyeballs to get it stopped. CHARLIE VOWELL and Miss DAISY DAVIS, both of Robert Lee, are to be married this weekend. Time's up today on the license and he plans to go to McCamey where Miss DAVIS is visiting relatives. Mr. and Mrs. LEE ROBERTS and BILLIE LOUISE, Mr. and Mrs. LINZY MCDORMAN and children, Mrs. ARTELL ROBERTS, Mr. and Mrs. BUCK SWART, T. J. HOLDEN and son, J. D., Misses OPAL RIVES, SEBA WOLFE, BERNICE GILMORE, BERT PAGE, YVONNE KERLEY, ORA MAE JONES, ROLLA PAGE and WELDON JOHNSON were Robert Lee visitors from Paint Creek Saturday. Talk about your wagons, we got another kind here now. SLOAN BOONE had a pretty good old Coupe he hated to throw away - motor not much punk, pretty good casings on her, so he yanks the motor, windshield, and steering wheel out, put a tongue in it. He and his daddy, Will Boone, come 12 miles from Edith and say--it makes the best buggy you ever saw hooked to two horses. He drives right by filling stations and thumbs his nose. They'll have a hard time starving us to death in good old Coke County! "Extravagance rots character, train your youth away from it. The habit of saving money stiffens the will." Bank the best place to leave your money. Capital and surplus over $60,000. First State Bank. Fred Roe, president; B. D. SNEAD, cashier; directors, J. B. BELL, J. S. CRADDOCK and W M SIMPSON. Mr and Mrs. W. D. JAMESON went to Carlsbad Sunday to see their daughters, WILLIE and DELIA FRANK. There will be no free air at the Coke Motor Company for a few days at least. Wednesday about 1 p.m. their reservoir and compressor blew out and really tore things up. The automatic shut-off valve failed and the pressure built up. She went off like a cannon. Ruined the equipment but no one was injured. Word was sadly received here Wednesday that JOHN SAUL, pioneer citizen and ranchman of Coke County had dropped dead at a filling station in Mason, while enroute to Hutto, Texas where Mrs. SAUL lives. Accompanied by his son, JOHN JR., the pair had stopped for gas and Mr. Saul slumped in his seat and life was gone. The body was sent to Hutto for burial. The Observer joins the whole area in extending their condolences to the grieving family. Mr. SAUL is to be credited with heping found this county, a true pioneer spirit.
