Clay County Pioneer Dies

Louisa Collie, 84, a pioneer resident of Clay County, died Tuesday in a Fort Worth hospital.  (Sept. 22, 1964)

She was mother of a Wichita Falls woman and sister of two others.

Funeral will be from Rosen Heights Baptist Church in North Fort Worth at 11 am Thursday.

Burial will be in the Prospect Cemetery of south Clay County under direction of the Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Fort Worth.

Mrs.Collie was born and reared in the Prospect area.  Her husband, the late Hillery Collie, was a blacksmith there.

She had been living in Wichita Falls and Azle in recent months.  

Survivors include five daughters, Lillian Pharris of Fort Worth, Mrs. Ruby Lenard of Wichita Falls, Mrs. Lucille Case of Fort Worth, Mrs. Inez Roper of Temple and Mrs. Bernice Ewell of Azle; a son, Bud Collie, of Hearn; a brother, Ira Blalock of Prospect; three sisters, Mrs. Edgar P. Haney and Mrs. Jessie Davis of Wichita Falls and Mrs. Jay Lyons of Childress; 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
