Funeral services for William Ornan Whatley, Jr., 93, of Jacksonville, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007, in Autry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dan Middleton officiating under the direction of the funeral home in Jacksonville. Burial will be at Old City Cemetery in Jacksonville. Mr. Whatley died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007, in Jacksonville. He was born Nov. 13, 1913 in Jacksonville. He was a retired postal carrier in Jacksonville and a member of Mount Selman United Methodist Church. He is preceded in death by his step-daughter, Nancy (Sheets) Kitchens of Jacksonville and step-grandson Tim Kitchens of Tyler. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Elsie (Bonner) Whatley, of Jacksonville; sons and daughter-in-law, William O. (Bill) and Sherry Whatley of Grapeland; a daughter, Dorothy M. Little of Tyler; a stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, Weldon and Sandra Sheets of Celeste; a grandson, David Little of Jacksonville; granddaughter, Laurie Little of Tyler; two step-grandsons and a step-granddaughter-in-law, Michael and Sherie Sheets of Celeste and Wade Sheets of Celeste; three step-granddaughters and step-grandsons-in-law, Shona and Louis Domgard, of Norman Okla., Suzanne and Graig Herring of Dripping and Amanda and Andy Keymann of Steeleville Mo; eight great grandchildren, Colt and Laurel Herring of Dripping Springs, Griffin Domgard of Norman, Okla., Kailey and Wesley Keymann of Steeleville, Elizabeth Sheets of Celeste, Katelyn Kitchens of Austin and Lincoln Shaw of Tyler; and a niece, Patricia Stewart of Corpus Christi. Pallbearers will be David Little, Michael Sheets, Wade Sheets, Andy Keymann, Randy Bonner, Darryl Bonner, Mike Young and Neal Young.
