Melba Sunshine Scott Largent  Death notices for Nov. 20

Funeral services for Melba Sunshine Scott Largent, 82, of Rusk, are scheduled for 10 a.m., Wed., Nov. 21, 2007 in Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Terry Nied and Rev. Don Copeland officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Rusk.

Mrs. Largent died Nov. 17, 2007 in a Tyler Hospice. She was born Dec. 3, 1924 in Jacksonville to the late Emmett E. and Bertie Dickson Scott. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2007 at the funeral home.

Funeral for Melba Sunshine Scott Largent, 82, of Rusk, was at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Terry Nied and the Rev. Don Copeland officiating. Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Largent died Nov. 17. She was born Dec. 3, 1924, in Jacksonville to the late Emmett E. and Bertie Dickson Scott. She was a resident of Rusk most of her life. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she served as secretary since 1965. She retired from Rusk State Hospital in 2002 after many years of service. Preceding her in death were her husband, William P. Largent in 2003; son, Loel Largent; granddaughter, Roberta Mosenthiem; and sister, Janie Parks. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Noel and Joanie Largent of Whitehouse and William Gregg and Frances Largent of Desoto, Mo.; a brother, Emmett Scott Jr. of Rusk; a sister, Lawanda Smith of Arlington; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pallbearers were Rodney Wallace, Kurt Mosenthiem Jr., Tim Scott, Perry Largent, Joshua Largent and Eugene Wallace.
