GARY B. MCGAUGHEY

Funeral for Gary B. (Gunch) McGaughey, 57, of Diboll, was April 16 in the Carroway- Claybar Funeral Home chapel in Lufkin with Andy Gossett and the Rev. Jeff Stull officiating. Burial was in Alto City Cemetery. Mr. McGaughey died April 13, 2007. He was born Nov. 28, 1949, in Jacksonville to Ora Mae Dixon and H.B. (Rip) McGaughey. He grew up in Alto where he played football and baseball and graduated from Alto High School in 1968. He attended Kilgore College and received an associate degree in industrial drafting. He resided in Diboll for 36 years. He was a former member of the Lufkin Bass Club, the Ryan Lake Hunting Club and coached Diboll Youth Baseball for many years. He was a supervisor for Fiber Products, Temple-Inland for 31 years and a member of the Diboll First United Methodist Church. Preceding him in death were his parents; and brother-in-law, Capt. Francis Townsend.

Survivors are his wife of 38 years, Jeannie Townsend McGaughey of Diboll; son and daughter-in-law Mark and Celsa McGaughey of Diboll; two daughters and sons-in-law, Marla and Kenneth Dudley of Cypress and Jana and Orlando Estrada of Diboll; grandchildren, Chandlyr and Eli McGaughey of Diboll, Avery and Abigail Dudley of Cypress, Andrew and Lily Kate Estrada of Diboll; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Charles and Rena McGaughey of Bullard and Jimmy McGaughey of Alto; a sister and brother-inlaw, Mary Gay and Phillip Hennage of Sands Springs, Okla.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robin and Janet Townsend of Alvin; four sisters-in-law and brothersin law, Marilyn and John Beeson of Rusk, Sheila and Gaylon Johnson of Rusk, Janet and Wade Holder of Bandera and Joni and John Speanburg of Coppell; father and mother-in-law, Wayne and Betty Townsend of Rusk; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
