ELLEN LUCILLE DEAN SIDES

Funeral for Ellen Lucille Dean Sides, 83, of Austin was at 1 p.m. Feb. 27 at memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden Capital Parks in Austin.

Mrs. Sides died Feb. 23. She was born Jan. 21, 1925, in Rusk.

She married her childhood sweetheart in June 1945. They lived in Palestine and moved to Houston in 1951. She was active in community, church and scouting.

They moved to Austin in September 1967, where she was the nursery director at Baptist Church for 20 years and a teacher at Hyde Park Preschool. In Austin she was a volunteer with the Austin Steam Train Association.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Embery James Sides; her parents and siblings.

Survivors are her daughter, Lenda Marie Sides; her son and daughter-in-law, James Welton and Mary Katherine Sides; her granddaughter and her husband, Katherine and Jesse Pena; grandson and his wife, James and Kellie Michelle Sides; great-grandchildren, Leighann Pena, Christopher Lee and Justin Cole Sharp, Caleb James and Nathan David Sides and Kayla Katherine Pena who was born on her 82nd birthday; four sisters-in law, Claire Sides, Helen Sides, Mildred Munsinger and Agnes Dean; two brothers-in-law, A.D. Munsinger and Jimmy Spraggins; and nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Austin or the American Cancer Society.
