Edward L. Hobson
The celebration of the going home of Edward L. Hobson, 96, of Palestine, will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at Bailey and Foster Chapel. Burial will follow in Providence Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey and Foster Funeral Home, Palestine. Mr. Hobson died Sunday, March 9, 2008 at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born Feb. 27, 1912 in Anderson County to Robert James and Emma Hill Hobson. Mr. Hobson was retired from Knox Glass and was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army. Mr. Hobson was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Doris Novaline Hobson; two sons, Tim Hobson of Anna and Mike Hobson of Kaufman; five grandchildren, Chris Hobson, of Austin, Brandi Hobson, of Palestine, Bradley Hobson, of Elkhart, Barry Hobson of Canada and Heather Hobson of Irving; four great-grandchildren, Anna Kate and Ben Hobson, of Austin, Sebastian and Xander Hobson of Palestine. He was also honored with three daughters-in-law, Carla Hobson of Elkhart, Linda Hobson, of Kaufman and Paula Bass of Palestine. Pallbearers will be Rex Ferrell, Jack Gandy, Terry McCuller, Jimmy Lee Corbin, Donnie Hobson and Richard Bass.
