DAVID LYNN CHERRY
Graveside service for David Lynn Cherry, 60, of Lufkin, formerly of Alto was at 2 p.m. Sunday at Old Palestine Cemetery. Mr. Cherry died Thursday. He was born March 5, 1947, in Alto. He was co-owner of Lyons Gas in Lufkin since 1986 and a buyer for Lindsey Fur Co., a farmer and produce broker. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Lee Cherry and Lolas Lindsey Cherry; brother R. L. Cherry; sister, Mary Jo Brooks.
Survivors are a sister and spouse, Jeanie and Gary Dominy of Alto; granddaughter, Clare Childers; former wife, Sheryl Cherry of Dallas; stepson, Clint Childers of Pollock, step-daughter, Kelly Childers of Dallas and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Marion Lindsey, Bob Williams, Gary Dominy, Mike Hathorn, Payton Brooks, Dwight Lyons, Steve McCarty and Donald Wayne Carter. Autry Funeral Home was in charge.
