CRAIG CARPENTER
 

Funeral for Creighton (Craig) Keith Carpenter of Jacksonville was at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Autry Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Richard Spencer and the Rev. John Cole officiating. Burial was in Still Waters Memorial Garden.

Mr. Carpenter was born Oct. 31, 1937 and died Nov. 17.

Craig was originally from Arkansas, where he attended the University of Arkansas earning his Bachelor of Science Degree in Education and his Certification for orientation and mobility instructor for visually impaired and guide dogs.

He worked as a high school football and basketball coach. He was a certified OTM instructor for Arkansas Enterprises for the blind.

He was an entrepreneur in a Colorado hunting business, recreational therapist at TDCJ-UTMB, charter driver trainee and instructor and most recently a bus driver for Laidlaw Transit SW student transportation for JISD.

Survivors are his wife, Sally Carpenter; son, Chuck Carpenter; brother, Boots Carpenter; sisters-in-law Annette Thompson and Patricia Perry, Linda Carpenter; brother-inlaw, Robert Coffman; daughter in-law Cynthia Carpenter, and grandchildren, Steven and Kristen Carpenter. He was a father to Jennifer Rawlinson and Lynnette Januzi.

Funeral services for Craig Carpenter are scheduled for Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. in the Autry Funeral Home chapel in Jacksonville. Rev. Richard Spencer and John Cole will be officiating.  Burial will follow in Still Waters Memorial Garden. Mr. Carpenter was born on October 31, 1937, he died on November 17, 2007.Craig was a resident of Jacksonville, originally from Arkansas, where he attended the University of Arkansas earning his Bachelor of Science Degree in Education and his Cert.
