BUSTER BUCKINGHAM
Funeral for Buster Buckingham, 95, of Alto was at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the O.T. Allen & Son Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Mitchell Taylor officiating. Burial was in New Hope Cemetery.
Mr. Buckingham died Nov. 1. He was born Oct. 30, 1912, in Deberry to Sam and Evie Buckingham. He had lived most of his life in Alto and was a Methodist. He worked many years as a night watchman for Bowman's Saw Mill in Alto. Preceding him in death were his wife, Pearline Buckingham; two daughters, Mary Griffin and Geneva Mitchell; sons, James Buckingham, Clyde Buckingham, twins, Jenny Lee and Ira Lee Buckingham; one sister and six brothers.
Survivors are four sons, Nathaniel Buckingham, Melvin Buckingham and Larry Buckingham, all of Alto and David Buckingham of Rusk; three daughters, Rosa Buckingham and Jackie Brown of Alto and Martha Hinton of Jacksonville; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Great-grandsons served as pallbearers.
