Daniel Boone Ball


Funeral for Daniel Boone Ball, 63, of Route 1, Alto, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday from the Wallace-Thompson funeral chapel in Rusk, with the Rev. Don Copeland officiating.

Burial will be in the Ball Family cemetery near Alto.

Mr. Ball died Tuesday night in the Rusk hospital following a lengthy illness. He was 63.

a Native of Henderson county, he had lived in Alto for most of his life. He was a retired attendant at Rusk State Hospital, and a veteran of the U S Navy in World War II. He was a member of the Baptist Church and the Terrell Masonic Lodge and the Eastern Star chapter of Alto.

He is survived by two sons, Joe Ball of Rusk, and Billy C Ball of Hallsville; two brothers, Tom Ball of Palestine and Horton Ball of Rusk; five grandchildren; one great granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Glen Dominy, Clarence Mayes, Jim Wilson, Buddy McCormick, Morris Dixon, and Gordon Talley.
