LAVERNE "GERTIE" MULLINIX

 

Funeral for Laverne (Gertie) Mullinix, 76, of Rusk was at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, at Autry Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Donald Copeland officiating. Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Mullinix died Thursday, Dec. 4. She was born Jan. 13, 1932, in San Augustine County.

Mrs. Mullinix married Luther Eugene Mullinix March 9, 1974. She was employed as a psychiatric tech in the mental health care industry for more than 30 years and was a Baptist.

Preceding her in death were her father, Henry LaCurgus Waggonner; mother. Sarah Letha Mayes Waggonner; and husband, Luther Eugene Mullinix.

Survivors are two sons and daughters-in-law, Barry and Donna Sosby of Jacksonville and David and RayNell Sosby of Rusk; a brother and sister in law, Cornell and Mary Beth Waggonner of Tyler; grandsons, Brandon Sosby and wife Becky of Addison, Shannon Speck of Abilene and Bryan Sosby of Rusk; granddaughters, Hollie Kerzee and husband Tommy, Dusty Baxter and husband Jerome and Ashley Sosby all of Jacksonville and Casey Sosby of Tyler; eight great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pallbearers were Tommy Dosser, Deaton Goff, Jerry Goodman, Alan Chastain, Shannon Speck and Mitch Clayborne.
