EDWARD CHARLES (E.C.) MORRIS

 

Funeral for Edward Charles (E.C.) Morris, 75, of Cherokee County, will be at 1:20 p.m. Wednesday at Elm Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Greenie Phillips officiating.

Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery at Ponta.

Mr. Morris died March 26. He was born Nov. 14, 1933, in Rusk County to the late Mr. and Mrs. Tillman Morris and attended New Summerfield schools. He was a contractor for the U.S. Postal Service and a member of Pine Hill CME Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Morris.

Survivors include two sons, Charles Edward Norris and Baretta King; six daughters, Sharon Phillips, Patricia Morris, Regina Avant, Melinda Morris and Carla Morris, all of Rusk, and Doris Bell Morris of Tyler; two brothers, Ralph Morris of Dallas and Melvin Morris of Long Beach, Calif.; and two sisters, Virgie Mae Marshall and Lela Faye Lyles, both of Long Beach, Calif.

Arrangements will be under the direction of Mercy/Mc- Gowan Funeral Directors.
