Mr. Charlie R. McCreight
Graveside services or Mr. Charlie R. McCreight, 88, of Jacksonville, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2008, at Mount Hope Cemetery, Rusk, with Rev. Don Copeland officiating under the direction of Boren-Conner Funeral Home, Jacksonville. Mr. McCreight died Wednesday evening in a Jacksonville hospital. He was born Nov. 25, 1919 in Cherokee County to Samuel and Mollie Beecham McCreight. He was a lifelong Cherokee County resident and had worked at sawmills all of his life. Mr. McCreight was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary McCreight in 1995 and brothers and sisters. Mr. McCreight is survived by five sons, Charles McCreight of Rusk, Bobby McCreight of Lake Palestine, Michael McCreight of Crockett, Randy McCreight of Corpus Christi and Steven McCreight of Jacksonville; daughters, Sandra Frutos, of Jacksonville and Rita McCreight of Ohio; a brother Obie McCreight of Houston and a sister, Virginia Dickson of Rusk; 17 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie McCreight, Mikey McCreight, Jamie McCreight and Tony Frutos, Jr. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Boren-Conner Funeral Home, Jacksonville. Mr. McCreight died April 16 in Cherokee County. He was born Nov. 25, 1919, in Cherokee County to the late Samuel and Mollie Beecham McCreight. He was a lifelong Cherokee County resident and a sawmill worker.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary McCreight.
Survivors include five sons, Charles McCreight of Rusk, Bobby McCreight of Lake Palestine, Michael McCreight of Crockett, Randy McCreight of Corpus Christi and Steven McCreight of Jacksonville; two daughters, Sandra Frutos of Jacksonville and Rita Mc- Creight of Ohio; and a brother, Obie McCreight of Houston; a sister, Virginia Dickson of Rusk; 17 grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were under direction of Boren-Conner Funeral Home.
