KINNEY
Funeral for Rodger Kinney, 56, of Lake Striker was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, at Autry Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. David Hallum officiating. Burial was in Still Waters Memorial Garden, Jacksonville with full military honors.
Mr. Kinney died Dec. 9. He was born July 29, 1952, in Jacksonville to J. B. Kinney and Avis E. Langford Kinney.
He was a member of Afton Grove Baptist Church. He retired from the U.S. Army as a CSM after 22 years of service from 1971-93. He retired from Goodyear, where he was employed for 15 years, and was a Masonic Lodge member.
His parents, J. B. and Avis Kinney and brother (Bud) Kinney preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Kinney of Lake Striker; sons and daughter-in-law, Mark and Diana Kinney of Jacksonville and Richard (Rich) Kinney of Anchorage, Alaska.; daughters and sons in law, Mickie and Bill Beseth of Lithia, Fla. and Cristal and Ben Johnson of Shawnee, Kan.; sister and brother-in-law Laura (Lolly) and Glenn Allen of Dialville; brother and sister-in-law, Tony and Sissy Kinney of Lake Striker; nine grandchildren, Jessica, Jayanna, Lucas, Brandon and Ryne Kinney, Dalton and Alexa Beseth and Logan and Gavin Johnson; and several nieces and nephews.
Full Army Detail from Fort Hood served as honorary pallbearers.
