Wallace R. Hunter

Funeral services for Wallace R. Hunter, 74, of Rusk, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2007, in the Rusk Church of Christ, with Robby Arrington officiating.

Burial will be in Atoy Cemetery, under the direction of Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Rusk. Masonic grave site rites will be under the direction of Rusk Euclid Masonic Lodge No. 45 A.F. A.M.

Mr. Hunter died May 1, 2007, at his residence. He was born June 15, 1932, in Halletsville, Texas, to Wallace and Lula Ponton Hunter. He was a resident of Rusk for 36 years, formerly of San Antonio, a member of Rusk Church of Christ and past Master of Rusk Euclid Masonic Lodge No. 45 A.F. A.M. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn A. Hunter in 2005; his son, Rick Hunter; and his sister, Bobbie Graham.

He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sheri and Jim Hoffman of Victoria; a son and daughter-in-law, Randall and Susan Hunter of Rusk; two granddaughters, Kimberly Flowers of Victoria and Larissa Hoffman of Victoria; two great-granddaughters, Morgann Zimmer of Victoria and Brooke Hoffman of Victoria; a great-grandson, James Hoffman of Victoria; a father-in-law, Howard Gardner of Rusk; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Talmadge Rogers, David Walley, Ricky Monkress, Michael Tugwell, Jimmy Walley and Kent Shuttlesworth.

Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 4, 2007, at the funeral home.
