VIRGINIA (TOOTSIE) HUDSON
Funeral for Virginia (Tootsie) Hudson, 78, of Hudson Chapel was at 2
p.m., Sunday in Wallace Thompson Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Don
Copeland officiating. Burial was in Salem Cemetery.
Mrs. Hudson died May 22. She was born Sept. 11, 1929 in Athens to the late Ira F. and Annie Lee Harrell Lewis. She was a Rusk resident most of her life, member of the Rusk First Baptist Church and a housewife. Preceding her in death were her son, Charles E. Hudson Jr.; daughter, Brenda K. Hudson Emerson; three brothers, June Lewis, George Lewis and Joe Lewis; three sisters, Frances Perkins, Nell Queen and Tony Clear.
Survivors are her husband of 62 years, Charles E. Hudson Sr. of Hudson Chapel; daughter, Peggy Hudson of Hudson Chapel; son, Jerry Turner of Garland; brother, James Lewis of Rusk; grandchildren, Michelle LaGrande, Steven Hudson, Jennifer Gill, Misty Geers, Jason Turner, Michael Goff, Bryan Hudson, Brandi Collins and Cole Emerson; 19 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and a sister-in-law, Anna Lewis of Florida. Pallbearers were Michael Goff, Jason Turner, Kyle Tullis, Cole Emerson, Kip Geers and Jorey Gajewski. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Assn., 225 N. Funeral services for Virginia “Tootsie” Hudson, 78,
of Hudson Chapel are scheduled for 2 p.m., Sunday, May 25, 2008 in
Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Copeland officiating.
Interment will be in Salem Cemetery under the direction of
Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Rusk.

1929 in Athens to the late Ira F. and Annie Lee Harrell Lewis.
Family received friends from 6-8 p.m., Saturday, May 24, 2008 at the
funeral home.
