Earl M. Grimes

Memorial services for Mr. Earl M. Grimes, 91 of Jacksonville will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Grimes Cemetery with Rev. David Hallam officiating. Mr. Grimes was born Aug. 27, 1916 in Cherokee County and had lived all of his life in the Jacksonville area. He was an insulator and was a member of the Cove Springs Community Church. Mr. Grimes died Aug. 2, 2008 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Minnie Grimes and his wife, Elouise Grimes. Mr. Grimes is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Margaret Grimes of Jacksonville and Earl L. Grimes of Jacksonville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Vicki and Tim Murphy of Staunton, Va. and Darlene and Keith Hazlewood of Willis; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday evening 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Boren-Conner Funeral Home, Jacksonville. Published in the Jacksonville Daily Progress on 8/6/2008
