Gwen K. Garrett

 

Services for Gwen K. Garrett, 70, Point Blank, are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Wednesday, May 14, at the Concord Cumberland Presbyterian Church, near Troup, with the Reverend Duane Dougherty officiating. Burial will be in the Concord Cemetery, under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup. Mrs. Garrett died Sunday, May 11, in a Conroe Hospice Facility. She was born March 10, 1938 in Sparkman, Arkansas to the late Arthur Clinton Kinser and Chesta Selph Kinser. She and her husband were longtime residents of Houston and moved to Point Blank in 1994.Mrs. Garrett was a housewife. She married Lonnie B. Garrett in Houston, February 20, 1960. He preceded her in death May 7, 2007.She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Irene Spurlin and Zella Hunter and two brothers, J.C. Kinser and Jack Kinser. Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, David and Rosie Garrett, Katy and Duane Garrett, Point Blank; a sister and brother-in-law, Lou and Doug Chesnutt, Jewett; two sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Ellene Kinser and Clara and Harold Penn, Bellaire; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
