Doris N. Dunn Durrett
Doris N. Dunn Durrett, 81, of Pollok, was born October 31, 1925, in
Nacogdoches, Texas, the daughter of the late Laura Ethel (Wright) and
Wesley Clyde Dunn.
She passed away on Friday, May 18, 2007, in a Lufkin nursing facility.
Mrs. Durrett was a homemaker and a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and
sister. She was a member of Pollok Baptist Church. A resident of Pollok
most of her life, Mrs. Durrett had also lived in Jacksonville and Mixon.
Survivors include her daughter, Doris J. Hankins of Lufkin; daughter and
son-in-law, Betty Sue and Bobby Williams of Quinlan; sister and
brother-in-law, Robbie Ray Dunn Jumper and Clifton Jumper of Hudson; six
grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces,
nephews and other relatives.
Preceding Mrs. Durrett in death were her husbands, Eugene Chisenhali and
Charles Durrett; her son, Bennie Ray Chisenhall; stepson, Charles Gordon
Durrett; sister, Clydie Jo Dunn Reynolds; and son-in-law, Henry C.
“Sonny” Hankins, Jr.
Pallbearers will be Randal Smith, Steve Ramirez, Tommy Reynolds, Carl
Chisenhall, Bobby Reynolds and Trevor Williams. Honorary pallbearers
will be Michael Louton and Bob Williams.
Expressions of sympathy in Mrs. Durrett’s memory may be made to the
Pollok Baptist Church Building Fund, 1053 Paul Townsend Road, Pollok,
Texas 75969.
Services for Mrs. Durrett will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 21 in the
Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Joe Carriere officiating.
Interment will follow in the Pollok Cemetery.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6-8 p.m. Sunday
evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
