JOE S. BURTON
Funeral services for Joe S. Burton, 72, of Jacksonville was at 2 p.m. Thursday at Autry Funeral Home chapel. Burial was in Jarratt Cemetery.
Mr. Burton died May 11. He was born March 4, 1936, in Jacksonville. Mr. Burton was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was retired from United Gas Pipeline in Houston as a maintenance worker.
He is survived by wife Judy Burton of Jacksonville; four sons and daughters-in-law Randy and Renee Burton, Larry and Terry Burton, and Daniel Lee Gattis, all of Jacksonville and Dale and Toni Gattis of San Antonio; a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Donnie Ray of Jacksonville; a sister, Ann Corbin of New Summerfield; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Roy Traylor, Royce Traylor, Gaylon Hooton, Simon Hernandez, Mike Bolton, Jerry Dennis, Bill Terry and Darrell Whitehead. Honorary pallbearers were Greg Taylor and Ernest Lewis.
