JACKSONVILLE — Funeral services for Willie Harold Acker, Sr., age 80, of Jacksonville, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wed., Sept. 18, at Rocky Springs Baptist Church in Dialville, with Rev. Jim Slocum and Rev. John Paul Little officiating.

Burial will be at Providence Cemetery in Dialville under the direction of Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville.

Mr. Acker passed away Sun., Sept. 15, 2013 in Jacksonville.

Willie was born Sept. 2, 1933 in Dialville to Willie and Ruby Acker.

Mr. Acker served in the U.S. Navy and was a retired school administer.

He was a member of the Rocky Springs Baptist Church in Dialville, a former member of the Civitan Club, and a member of the Cherokee County Genealogical Society.

He is preceded in death by parents; first wife, Sylvia Booth Acker; brothers, Kenneth Earl Acker, Carrol Nathan Acker, and Dean Acker.

Survivors include his wife, Delores Acker of Jacksonville; sons, Willie Harold Acker, Jr. and wife Penny, and Marvin Acker, all of Jacksonville; granddaughters, Laura Acker Lambert, Trai Marie Wooddell, and April Sylvia Acker, all of Jacksonville; grandsons, John Leland Acker of Brownwood, Willie Harold Acker III of Gallatin; sisters-in-law, Marva Jean Acker and Linda Allen Acker, both of Jacksonville; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Willie Harold Acker III, Keith Wooddell, Leland Acker, Robert Cox, Lee Lambert, and C. Nathan Acker, Jr.
