Funeral for Sylvia Acker, 74, of Jacksonville, was at 10 a.m. Monday, May 31, at Rocky Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Swilling and Rev. Jim Slocumb officiating. Burial was in Providence Cemetery.
Mrs. Acker died May 27. She was born Aug. 4, 1935, in Jacksonville. Mrs. Acker was a member of Rocky Springs Baptist Church. She was retired from the Rusk State Hospital Medical Records Department and was a member of Cherokee County Genealogical Society and Civitan Club.
Survivors include her husband Willie Harold Acker Sr.; two sons and a daughter-inlaw, Willie Harold Acker Jr. and wife Penny Pratt Acker and Marvin Booth Acker; mother, Marguerite Wilson Booth Grisham, all of Jacksonville; three granddaughters, Laura Acker Sizemore, Trai Marie Wooddell and husband Keith and April Sylvia Burchett and husband Tyler, all of Jacksonville; two grandsons, John Leland Acker and wife Jessica of Brownwood and Willie Harold Acker III, of Jacksonville; and greatgrandchildren, Rayden Monroe Sizemore, Zachary Aleck Wooddell, Noah Wayne Wooddell, Lily Renee Wooddell, all of Jacksonville, Rachel Joy Acker, Joshua Caleb Acker and John Leland Acker Jr., all of Brownwood.
Pallbearers will be men of Rocky Springs Baptist Church.
