TAYLOR WHITEMAN
Funeral for Warren Taylor Whiteman, 82, of Alto, was at 2 p.m. Sunday at
the Alto Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. William Snydo, the Rev.
Odis Bryan and the Rev. Charles Williams officiating. Burial was in Alto
City Cemetery.
Mr. Whiteman died Friday. He was born Nov. 1, 1925, in Dallas to Augustus and Lucile Bradford Whiteman. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and was a part of the military draft board for 20 years. He was a former member of the Lions Club and worked at the DPS office until going into business with Gus and Weida Whiteman at Whiteman Foods. He was reared by his grandparents, W.T. and Sally Whiteman.
Survivors are his wife, Barbara Whiteman of Alto; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Tex Hunter Whiteman of Palestine and Chip and Carroll Boyd of Palestine; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Robin and Kenny Callaway of Alto, Mindy and Oliver McLaughlin of Palestine and Jaina Gayle of Austin; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and two expected.
Arrangements were under the direction of O.T. Allen & Son Funeral Home.
