JAMES ROY (JIM) TURNER
Memorial service for James Roy (Jim) Turner, 79, of Rusk will be at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8, at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Michael Caldwell officiating.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m. July 21 at the Bishop Chapel of Memories in McAlester, Okla. Burial was at the Chambers Cemetery.

Mr. Turner died July 18. He was born Aug. 19, 1928, in McAlester, to Frank and Rosie Bush Turner. He attended school at Savanna, Okla. and married Joyce Surber Turner on April 28, 1948 in Norman, Okla. He then worked in California for many years and also in the oil fields in Texas.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Frank and Rosie Turner and a brother, Joe Turner.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Joyce Turner; three daughters and two sons-in law, Carolyn Turner of Bellaire, Rhonda and Jerry Warren of League City, and Cheryl and Tom Dreher of Littleton, Colo.; two sons and daughters-inlaw, Linda and Randy Turner of Canadensis, Penn. and Christy and Russell Turner of Rusk; eight grandchildren, Kala Bauer and her husband Donnie of McKinney, James Whit Turner of Austin, Logan Turner of Austin, Cami Turner of Colorado Springs, Colo., Justin Warren of League City, Luke Turner of Rusk, Jade Warren of League City and Madi Turner of Rusk; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Theda and Hershel Osborne of Drumright, Okla., Billie and Raleigh Harrington of McAlester, Cindy and Kenny Morgan of Claremore, Okla.
