HERBERT A. TAYLOR

Funeral services for Herbert A. (Hub) Taylor, 82, of Rusk will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 10, in Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Don Copeland officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.

Mr. Taylor died Jan. 6. He was born Aug. 3, 1925, in Rusk to W.H. and Lula Johnson Taylor. He was a lifelong Rusk resident. He was a pipeline worker and served in the U.S. Navy in World War II. He was a member of Memorial Missionary Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his wife Agnes Taylor and a son, Tony Taylor.

Survivors are a son, Mike Taylor of Huntsville; a brother, Samuel Taylor of Lubbock; a sister, Orene Lloyd of Rusk; grandsons, Britt Taylor of Las Vegas, Nev. Nathan Taylor of Rusk, Zack Taylor of Tyler, John Stafford of Longview and Timothy Taylor of Germany; two great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were David Westbrook, Edwin Ballew, Mike Walley, Jimmy Walley, Zack Taylor and Russell Miles.

Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, at Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home

Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery under the direction of Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Rusk. Mr. Taylor died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2008 in a Tyler Hospital. He was born Aug. 3, 1925 in Rusk to W.H. and Lula Johnson Taylor. He was a lifelong resident of Rusk. He was a pipeline worker and served in the United States Navy in World War II.
