EVA LEE SARTAIN

 

Funeral for Eva Lee Sartain of Rusk was at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Rusk First Baptist Church with the Rev. Lee Welch and the Rev. Grover Talbert officiating. Graveside service followed at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Sartain died Nov. 8. She was born Oct. 8, 1920, in Alto, to Hal and Evie Boyd Brunt and was a long-time Rusk resident. She married Tom Eldon Sartain Sept. 26, 1937. Mrs. Sartain retired from Rusk State Hospital after 27 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Tom Sartain; her parents; and 10 siblings.

Survivors are her five children, Tommye Pickett of Rusk, Mike Sartain and wife, Sue, and Jim Sartain and wife, Debbie, all of Waco, Jane Woods and husband, Les, of Fort Worth and Bob Sartain and wife, Pam, of Birmingham, Ala.; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were grandchildren, Terry Pickett, Jay Sartain, Jeff Canterberry, Robert Woods, Kerry Pickett, Kyle Pickett, Natalie Sartain and Tyler Sartain.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 372 E. Fourth, Rusk or charity of choice.

Autry Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
