JOHN SANDERS

 

Funeral for John Sanders, 80, of Jacksonville was at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 28, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Jacksonville with the Rev. Jack Thrift officiating. Burial will follow at West Shady Grove Cemetery near Jacksonville. Mr. Sanders died Nov. 24, 2008. He was born Nov. 27, 1927 in Livingston to William N. Sanders and Zodie Frances Haney Sanders.

He served in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II, was a member of DAV and was a retired security officer. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister and brothers. Mr. Sanders is survived by his sister, Ollie Downum of Jacksonville. Autry Funeral Home was in charge.
