Funeral for Fannie Mae Naylor Richards, 105, of New Summerfield, was at
Autry Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 19, with Homer Harris
officiating. Burial was in Laneville Cemetery.
Mrs. Richards died Sept. 13. She was born Monday, Dec. 1, 1902, in Bolivar, Tenn. to Freeland Tyson Naylor and Ella Becky Motley.
The family came to Texas by train when she was seven years old and settled in the Ponta area. Mrs. Richards married Frank Odeal Richards Aug.19, 1926. He preceded her in death in 1980 as well as two grandsons in 1978 and 1995 and a son-in-law 2001.
Mrs. Richards worked 13 years at the Peacock Basket Factory at Turney and 32 years at the Holcomb Candy Kitchen and sold Avon for 50 years.
Survivors are four sons and daughters-in-law, Amos Ray and Louise Richards of Jacksonville, O'Daniel James and Patricia Richards of Rusk, Jerry Lee and Sheryl Richards of Huffman, Tyson Odeal and Diane Richards of Sherwood; a daughter, Mable Page of Temple; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; six great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

On many occasions God presents us with the opportunity to be blessed by another individual as we share life’s journey with them. All of the family of Fannie Richards and each of those many others who were privileged to know her received that blessing The family extends appreciation to Dr. Saade and to the staff at Twin Oaks Health and Rehab Center for their compassion and devoted care for our loved one. Funeral services for Fannie Mae Naylor Richards of New Summerfield, age 105 years, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 19, 2008 will be held at Autry Funeral Home with Brother Homer Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Laneville Cemetery, in Laneville. She will be placed beside her beloved husband and infant daughter. Mrs. Richards died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008 in Jacksonville. Mrs. Richards was born Monday, Dec. 01, 1902 in Bolivar, Tenn. to Freeland Tyson Naylor and Ella Becky Motley. She always enjoyed gardening quilting, crocheting, cooking and traveling, even into her later years. Most of all she enjoyed her friends and family. She was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Amos Ray and Louise Richards of Jacksonville, O'Daniel James and Patricia Richards of Rusk, Jerry Lee and Sheryl Richards of Huffman, Tyson Odeal and Diane Richards of Sherwood; daughter Mab le Page of Temple; 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008 at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
