BILLY JACK RENTZ SR.

 

Funeral for Billy Jack Rentz Sr. 73, of Jacksonville was at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Autry Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Ken Rawson and Greg Malone officiating. Burial was in Corine Cemetery.

Mr. Rentzx died Dec. 27. He was born Nov. 4, 1935, in Tifton, Ga. to Harvey E. and Gladys Crumpton Rentz. Mr. Rentz served 21 years in the U. S. Marine Corps and was a Vietnam War veteran. He retired from Moore public schools in Oklahoma as director of supply and technical services. He was a Mason, a Shriner and member of Sunset Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Marlin E. (Buck) Rentz; and sister, Christina Boyd.

Survivors are his wife of 51 years, Nan Cone Rentz of Jacksonville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Billy J. Rentz Jr. and Tina Birdwell and David and Jackie Rentz, all of Jacksonville; a daughter and son in law, Patti Brown and Larry Harris of Norman, Okla.; sister, Jean Bennett of Muskogee, Okla.; grandchildren, Joshua Rentz of the U. S. Army at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Bradley Rentz of the U. S. Army at Fort Gordon in Augusta, Ga., Billy Rentz, III of Oklahoma City, Okla., Nickolaus and Zackary Brown of Norman, Okla., Christina Rentz of Oklahoma City; and step-grandchildren, Jeremy and Katryclyn Dickerson of Jacksonville, Rachel Ponder of Albany, Ga., Robin Floyd of Southport, S.C., Casey Warren and Katherine Warren. Memorials may be made to Hospice of East Texas or to Sunset Baptist Church of Jacksonville.
