C.E. (SHOTS) REID
Funeral for C.E. (Shots) Reid, 79 of Alto, was at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Campground Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Goforth officiating. Burial was in Lynches Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Reid died April 23. He was born Nov. 4, 1928, near Rusk to James Birten and Frances Masters Reid. He lived in Houston for 20 years where he worked for Sunbeam Bread as a baker. He had been in Alto for 39 years and attended the Campground Baptist Church. He worked for Hicks Post Company.
Preceding him in death were his son, Butch Reid; his parents; and brothers, David, Ernest, J.W. (Red), Harmon, Robert, Joe, Mack and Raymond Reid.
Survivors are his wife of 58 years, Mary Butler Reid of Alto; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Reid of Alto; a brother, Floyd Reid of Liberty Hill; two sisters, Addie Mae Bowman of Oakland and Lorene Ward of Grandview; a grandson, Charley Reid of Huntsville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Kevin Pierce, Tommy Lynn Grogan, Billy Mason, Al Lemon, Tommy (Diller) Selman and Nicky Wallace. Buck Chapman was honorary pallbearer.
