JAMES CLAUDE POUNDERS

Graveside service for James Claude Pounders 84, of Alto, was at 10 a.m. Friday at Old Palestine Cemetery with the Rev. Odis Bryan officiating.

Mr. Pounders died Jan. 28. He was born Aug. 3, 1923, in Alto to Claude Sr. and Mary Ivie Pounders. He lived in Alto all of his life, was a Baptist and a farmer. Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, Elmer Pounders; and a sister, Marie Perryman. Survivors are a nephew and his wife, James Samuel and Connie Perryman of Alto; a great-nephew, James T. Perryman; five great nieces, Tina Smelley, Angela Powers, Linda Rice, Leslie Ann and Christian Perryman.

O.T. Allen & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
