SHERMAN HUDSON MITCHELL

 

Funeral for Sherman Hudson Mitchell, 48,of Alto will be at 1 pm. Wednesday in the St. Thomas Chapel AME Church with the Rev. Burley Hudson officiating. Burial will be in St. Thomas Chapel Cemetery.

Mr. Mitchell died Saturday. He was born Dec. 10, 1960, in Rusk to Lawrence Mitchell and Alzata Hudson. He graduated from Alto High School in 1980, and worked for many years as a concrete laborer and finisher. He also worked for Rusk State Hospital and Alto Nursing Center. His parents preceded him in death.

Survivors are his wife, Fay Mitchell of Alto; his grandmother, Louise Hudson of Alto; his son, Martavia Mitchell of Alto; three daughters, Natasha Morrison, Jameka Mitchell and Kolanda Mitchell, all of Alto; three brothers, Robert Reagan, Chris Mitchell and Antonio Mitchell, all of Dallas; and a grandson, Jayren Whitaker.

Pallbearers will be S.M. Thacker, Wayne Buckingham, Paul Coutee, Randy Lofton, Henry Ervin and Kelly Buckingham. O.T. Allen & Son was in charge of arrangements.
