STEWART MINNICK
Funeral for Patsy McGowan Stewart Minnick, 78, of Houston, formerly of Jacksonville, was at 2 p.m. Saturday at Autry Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Dr. Faulk Landrum officiating. She died Feb.17.
She was born June 10, 1930, in Rusk to K. L. McGowan and Ruth Whatley McGowan.
She graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1948, was class favorite, a member of the JHS marching band, majorette, and FFA sweetheart.
She lived in Jacksonville until 1966, before moving to Pasadena.
She was a Lutheran, a member of Lutheran Women's Association, and very involved with Helping Hands. She was employed by the school district working as a tax clerk.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Ernest Stewart; and sister, Bettye Kalvort.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie Stewart and Ed Barrow of LaPorte and Jan Stewart and Dave Salmons of Clear Lake; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Billie Jo McGowan of Pritchett and Jerry and June McGowan of San Antonio; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Julee and Charles Young of Hallsville and Leora Ashley and George Davis of Kilgore; four grandchildren Ryan, Cory, Randy and wife Dodie and Misty and husband Roger; and four great-grandchildren, Ashley, Meagan, Trey and Alyssa.
