MAXINE OWEN MCKNIGHT

 

Graveside service for Frances Maxine Owen McKnight, 92, of Tyler was at 10 a.m. Nov. 22, at Resthaven Memorial Park in Jacksonville with the Rev. Stuart Baskin officiating.

Mrs. McKnight died Nov. 21. She was born Jan. 10, 1916, in Jacksonville. She graduated with honors from Lon Morris College and Texas Women's University at Denton. She was a charter member of the Assistance League of Chaves County, Roswell, N.M. She had been a member of PEO since 1959. She was a longtime member of Alamo Heights Presbyterian Church in San Antonio and a substitute teacher in the North East Independent School District. Since leaving her San Antonio home of 32 years she lived at Rosewood Estates Retirement Residence.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Fannie Elizabeth and Fay Owen; her husband, Arlis Dalton McKnight; her sister and brother-in-law, Eleanor Owen May and T. Fender May. Survivors are two daughters and sons-in-law, Myrna and Billy J. Braly of Bullard and Eleanor and Will G. Dickey of Houston; three grandchildren, Kristin Gorman of Boston, Ashley Braly of Fort Worth, Scott Braly and his wife, Emily, of Fort Worth; and caregivers, Rose Taylor, Shantuicha Jackson, Velma Jones, Linda Jones, Laleta Warren, Dasha Johnson and Maria Mora.
