JUNE KING LANDRUM

 

Funeral for June King Landrum, 71, of Jacksonville, was at 11 a.m. Friday at Jacksonville First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kevin King, the Rev. Barbara Hugghins and the Rev. Jim Crawford officiating. Burial was at 2 p.m. Friday at Lakeview Conference Cemetery, near Elkhart.

Mrs. Landrum died Oct. 28. She was born June 4, 1937, in Quitman toArthurAdkins King and Lila May Gilbreath King. Mrs. Landrum was a member of the Jacksonville First United Methodist Church, the Seeker's Sunday School and United Methodist Women. She was a former United Methodist Women's president. She directed Methodist children's camps and worked with United Methodist Youth Fellowship. She and her husband were foster parents to more than 10 children, hosted many foreign and exchange students in their home. She was one of the founding members of the Women's Crisis Center in Jacksonville.

She is preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Lila King and her sister Joy Hinton.

Survivors include husband the Rev. Dr. Faulk Landrum of Jacksonville; daughter and son-in-law Beverly Landrum and Michael Sharpe of Dallas; two sons and a daughter-inlaw, David Arthur and Quigley Landrum of Portland, Ore. and Daniel Faulk Landrum of Chappell Hill; a brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Joe Mac and Louise King of Dallas; and two granddaughters, Lila Rebecca Baker and husband Michael of Dallas and Mary Victoria Sharpe of Austin.

Pallbearers were Rev. Jack Albright, Rev. Fred Lang, Rev. Jimmie Reese, Rev. Tom Holcomb, Rev. Don Post, Bob Buckingham, Jimmy Going and Casey Beach.

Arrangements were under the direction of Autry Funeral Home.
