Funeral for Anthony Fitzgerald Johnson, 38, of Alto, formerly of Reklaw, was at 11 a.m. Friday in the Weeping Mary Baptist Church near Alto with Supt. Donnie Timmons officiating. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery at Reklaw.
Mr. Johnson died Sunday in Rusk. He was born Aug. 10, 1970, in Reklaw to Johnnie W. and Florence Lewis Johnson. He lived in Reklaw most of his life and for the past six years in Alto. He was a member of the Shady Grove Church of God in Christ in Rusk. He played basketball for Laneville High School.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Johnson; grandfather, A.B. Lewis; and brother, Derrick Johnson.
Survivors are his wife, Lawanna Johnson of Alto; his parents, Johnnie W. and Florence Johnson of Reklaw; two sons, DeMarcus Johnson of Laneville and JaMarcus Johnson of Alto; two daughters, Jaslin Johnson of Laneville and JaKayla Johnson of Alto; nine brothers and five sisters-in-law, Bobby and Sandra Lockhart of Sulsun City, Calif., Billy Lockhart of Mobile, Ala., Lee Lockhart and J.L. and Wanda Johnson of Reklaw, Tyrone and Taresia Johnson of Henderson, Mike and Angie Johnson, Timmy Johnson, Kimmy Johnson, all of Reklaw and Harold and Kashia Johnson of Rusk; five sisters and three brothers-in-law, Florence Lockhart of Reklaw, Sharon and Ricky Mosley of Tyler, Helen and Vince Parker of Henderson, Terri Johnson of Reklaw and April and Aaron Lewis of Tyler.
Pallbearers were Joshua Skinner, Andrew Skinner, Stancy Skinner, Byron Davis, Jeremy Skinner and Anthony Skinner. Honorary pallbearers were Gabriel Johnson, Christopher Johnson, Dyirell Johnson, Herman Martin, Byron Johnson, Brandon Matthews and Emmanuel Matthews.
O.T. Allen & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
