Herbert Hudson

Funeral services for Herbert Hudson, 93, of Cushing, are scheduled for 1 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008 in Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Copeland officiating. Interment will be in McKnight Cemetery near Cushing under the direction of Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Rusk. Mr. Hudson died Jan. 13, 2008 in a Tyler hospice. He was born Dec. 23, 1914 in Meridian, Miss. to Walter and Delia Rose McClendon Hudson. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2008 in the funeral home. HERBERT HUDSON

Funeral for Herbert Hudson, 93, of Cushing, formerly of Rusk, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, in Wallace Thompson Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Don Copeland officiating. Burial will be in McKnight Cemetery.

Mr. Hudson died Jan. 13. He was born Dec. 23, 1914, in Meridian, Miss. to Walter and Delia Rose McClendon Hudson. He was employed by the City of Rusk in maintenance. He retired after 29 years of service. Mr. Hudson worked for Nichols Pistol Factory in Jacksonville for four years as an assistant supervisor. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Preceding him in death were his father and mother, Walter and Delia Hudson; wife, Ethel Faye Bass Hudson; two sisters, Minnie Kolaginczak and Betty June Fields.

He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Billy Jack and Dorothy Hudson of Bullard, David and Kiki Hudson of Gladewater; daughter and son in law, Joyce Marie and Danny Willis of Cushing; one brother and sister-in-law, Charlie and Dorothy Hudson of Cleveland; one sister Lily Jinkens of Houston; eight grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
