ROZELLE MARIE GATEWOOD

 

Funeral for Rozelle Marie Gatewood, 93, of Cleburne was at at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 26, 2008, in St. Mark United Methodist Church. with Jerry Cox and Danny Niedecken officiating. Burial was in the Rosehill Cemetery.

Mrs. Gatewood died Dec. 22, 2008. She was born Sept. 29, 1915, in Cleburne to James William Sr. and Mary Etta Rozelle Miles. She married Herman Gatewood Sr. Nov. 27, 1948, in Cleburne. Mrs. Gatewood was a bookkeeper for Gatewood Electric for 35 years and was a member of the St. Mark United Methodist Church. She was a member of the United Methodist Women and a life member of the Cleburne PTA.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Mary Lewis of Tyler and Herman Jr. and Marlene Gatewood of Cleburne; daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Jack Tekell of McKinney; granddaughters, Ashley Gatewood of Cleburne, Meredith Gatewood of Cleburne, Christi Lewis of Tyler, Laura Gibbons and husband Scott of Chandler and Ellen Hewitt and husband Jonathan of Celina; grandsons, Steven Tekell and wife Ruth of Ft. Collins, Colo. and Robert Lewis and wife Angela of Elizabeth Town, Ky.; 11 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Allen Lewis in 1945 and her second husband Herman Gatewood Sr. in August 2002. Mrs Gatewood is a descendent of early East Texas settlers, William Marion (Billy) and Molly T. Holmes Rozelle of Alto.
