JUNE CRYSUP

 

Funeral for June Crysup, 86, of Rusk was at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Michael Caldwell officiating. Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Crysup died Oct. 18. She was born June 26, 1922, in Rusk to the late Herman and Evelyn Tucker Odom. She was a lifelong Rusk resident and graduated from Rusk High School. She retired as a Cherokee County tax office clerk after many years of service. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she served as pianist and organist from age 16 until her 70s. She was a former church secretary and accompanist for the Cherokee Civic Theatre and the Cherokee Civic Chorus.

Her husband, Don Crysup Jr. preceded her in death.

Survivors are two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Sissy Crysup of Rusk and Steve and Cinda Crysup of Jacksonville; a daughter and son-in-law, Candy Crysup and Russell Maddox of Jacksonville; seven grandchildren including John Crysup, Jason Crysup, David Crysup, Jessica Womack, Jane Thomas, Jill Galiviz and Katie Sikes; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Don Jones, Lester Hughes, John Crysup, Jason Crysup, David Crysup and John Williams III. Memorials may be made to the music ministry at First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 99, Rusk 75785. Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
