L. V. BUTCHER

 

Funeral for L. V. Butcher, 76, of Rusk, was at 2 p.m. Friday at Autry Funeral Home chapel with Michael Gillen officiating. Burial was in Butcher Family Cemetery.

Mr. Butcher died Nov. 18. He was born March 6, 1932, in Trawick.

Mr. Butcher was employed as a business agent in the union labor industry for 28 years.

He was preceded in death by his father, William (Will) Franklin Butcher; mother, Clydia Lucinda Bass Butcher; wife, Peggy Butcher; and two brothers.

Survivors are his son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Sandy Butcher of Rusk; daughters, Debbie Dempsey of Reklaw, Pam Parker and husband Dennis of Baytown, Kathy Johnston and husband, Andy of Rusk and Karla Clark of Quitman; sons-in-law Billy Dempsey of Cushing and Mike Thrash of Quitman; sisters-in-law, Shirley Wright, Glenda Herdt and Helen Butcher all of Baytown; 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Ricky Butcher, Lester Butcher, Danny Butcher, Cricket Roland, Jonnye Cline, Kyle Fannin, Jacob Fannin and Trent Knupple.

Honorary pallbearers were Eugene Clifton, John Weaver, Christopher Martin and Art Johnston.
