ZELLA MAE BERRY

 

Funeral for Zella Mae Berry, 92, of Alvin, was at 10 a.m. Friday in the Sardis Baptist Church with the Rev. William Snidow officiating. Burial was in Sardis-Edgefield Cemetery.

Mrs. Berry died Oct. 12. She was born May 23, 1916, in Cherokee County. She had resided in Alvin for 66 years. She was an owner/operator of Alvin Washeteria in the late 1950s and through the early 1960s. She was a Baptist.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Carl Berry; and her parents, Mack and Molly Dear.

Survivors are three daughters and two sons-in-law, Mary and Zak Janson of Alvin, Joan and Jimmy Twilley and Becky DeWulf of Alvin; two sons and daughters-in-law, Carl Roger and Susan Berry and James Malcom and Felicia Berry, all of Alvin; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; numerous other relative.

Pallbearers were Howard Beasley, Terry Beasley, Wayne Berry, Gene Berry, Charles Dear, Marshall Dear, James Dear and Wylie Dear.

Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
